Quiet on the Set! More Training Resources Available on the Community Site
The Training Department at Geographic Solutions has been busy producing a number of video series that focus on various system modules. These were developed based on customer demand, and they tackle some of the more challenging or rapidly-changing parts of the system. Clients can take advantage of these videos as learning tools for their staff, or merely for self-exploration. They are located under the Training - Videos category on the Geographic Solutions Virtual Community Forum and also in the Learning Center of Virtual OneStop.
Check Out the Enhancements Found in Version 11.1
The enhancements to Virtual OneStop® in version 11.1 can be summarized as several significant areas of improvement for all users, as well as many improvements for each specific user (i.e.: Individuals, Employers, Staff, Providers, Analysts, and Administrators). Geographic Solutions Reemployment EXchange (REX): Taking a Bite out of Unemployment
The Geographic Solutions Reemployment EXchange module (REX) provides a link between UI and a workforce system that monitors and ensures that claimants are fulfilling all of their work search requirements while providing labor exchange and labor market information that should help the claimant become reemployed. This solution focuses on providing the claimant with all of the tools for success in landing a suitable, good paying job.
Is Modernizing UI Possible Without a Focus on Reemployment?
The combination of rising unemployment, a popular demand for online unemployment benefit services, and the need to advance service delivery has caused a dramatic need for a comprehensive online solution. In a document released by the Department of Labor, Employment and Training Administration (ETA) titled, A National Call for Innovation: Rethinking Reemployment Services for UI Claimants, an Emerging National Vision was defined by a national workgroup consisting of individuals at the federal, state and local levels of the publicly-funded workforce system.

From June 5-7, 2012, Geographic Solutions will host the 9th Annual Workforce Technology Conference, a platform which showcases cutting-edge technology with solutions to enhance workforce programs nationwide. The conference also allows workforce development professionals, administrators, case managers, and labor market specialists to experience new applications designed to improve performance, increase services and streamline their workloads. And just as important?the conference gives representatives from state and local agencies the chance to interact and exchange best practices.
